Sydney is one of the truly great cities of the world, everything you would hope for from a large city but still retaining some of the feel of a smaller town. People are friendly and helpful, public transport is good and it has to be one of the best located cities in the world in terms of climate, remarkable beaches in the suburbs and a couple of hours away from a beautiful wine region in the Hunter Valley and the Blue Mountains. Sydney was my home for 8 years and there's never a day goes by that I don't miss it.

We travelled on the train to the city then caught the ferry to the Zoo. I must stress that using an opal card was a godsend - it is easy and so cheap to travel around. We then did a vivid cruise on Sydney harbour which I would highly recommend to anyone being in Sydney over the Vivid festival.SteveAustralia
